Lead ARF Skills Coach

STATEMENT OF THE JOB:

The Lead ARF Skills Coach, under the direct supervision of the ARF Administrator, works alongside a team of caregivers, and provides on-call support to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our adult clients with mental health diagnoses who reside in one of our residential treatment facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the safety of residents through active supervision that complies with all agency guidelines and policies.
  • Participates in the on-call supervisor rotation, which requires being available during scheduled time-periods to provide quick crisis response (within in 15-minute window), which may include handling any emergency staffing needs, being available by phone for staff questions and communicating with the county or other designated stakeholders. Responds to workplace outside of scheduled hours to meet agency needs.
  • Dispenses and documents the use of medications by residents in accordance with strict agency procedures; monitors each resident's progress on their medication program; and reports progress in medication compliance.
  • Implements treatment plans of residents via treatment interventions provided and approved by the ARF Clinical Administrator.
  • Ensures all client documentation including Incident Reports is completed in our electronic health record (EHR) system promptly and accurately.
  • Collaborates in planning and supervision of daily activities and outings in accordance with safety directives, treatment goals and in strict adherence to daily structure.
  • Ensures that the physical needs of the residents are met by supervising all grooming and hygiene tasks, reporting all potential health and safety problems.
  • Ensures residents eat nutritionally balanced meals in accordance with approved menus; assists residents in planning meals, preparing meals, clean-up, and storage.
  • Actively participates in maintaining the cleanliness of the residence in accordance with established standards and procedures and promptly reports any repairs or physical issues with the residence.
  • Ensures and maintains understanding of approved interventions and treatment support; and communicates all essential client / resident information to appropriate contacts to ensure continuity of care among the team.
  • Facilitate daily non-clinical groups as instructed.

  • Sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Must participate in Performance Quality Improvement and Risk Prevention.
  • Provides and practices trauma-informed care services and modalities with using empathy and understanding in treatment of individuals or other tasks assigned.
  • Plans time efficiently and accordingly to complete necessary documents and projects.
  • Works cooperatively with others in a team-oriented manner.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Practices good judgment and has ability to take initiative.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted California Driver's License; personal automobile liability insurance; and a driving record acceptable to Summitview's insurance carrier.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit; must be willing to complete a health screening including physical examination; and must have the unrestricted capacity to employ physical restraint techniques in a professionally safe manner.
  • Must attend in-house first aid and CPR training within 30 days following employment (if not currently certified).
  • Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California; and must meet community care licensing standards for professional employment.
  • Must have and be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of the English language in both oral and written forms.
  • Must follow all procedures and protocols to ensure client and employee safety and health to support Summitview's work as an essential service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be in good standing in their current Summitview role with a strong performance record.
  • One year or more of prior residential care experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses is preferred.
  • Six months in current Summitview position preferred.

OTHER:

  • Employment is at-will.
  • This position is full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.
  • 24/7 shift coverage required; shift times will vary based upon the needs of the agency.
  • Schedule: Saturday - Wednesday, $21 hourly
  • Direct care staff position therefore follows Wage Order 5 overtime, meal, and break period rules.
